Reconstruction of 640m of Federal Drive in Federal, Northern NSW. The works were carried out to restore a section of road that was cut off and closed during the 2022 floods. Works took place over 12 months and involved the removal of 5000m3 of landslip debris, stabilising the existing landslide area using 5km of grout piles, 3km of ground anchors and 2km of soil nails before rebuilding the road. The road was reopened in mid-2024 after 2 years of closures.

Arcos provided civil and geotechnical engineering support throughout the reconstruction process. Our involvement included geotechnical assessments, stability design, and temporary works solutions to manage the high-risk landslide zone. We also contributed to the civil design and staging strategy, ensuring that remediation works were both practical and buildable. By working closely with GRC Civil and project stakeholders, Arcos helped deliver a safe, resilient, and durable road reconstruction that restored a vital transport link for the community.
