Horseshoe Hill, Bald Knob

Project Overview

Luxury Sunshine Coast Hinterland living is embodied by the Horseshoe Hill residential development.

A standout architectural design, this multi-million dollar home with striking curves and vistas featured on Grand Designs Australia (Season 12).

Horseshoe Hill, designed by Joe Adsett Architects and built by Jager Build, was recognised as Queensland’s Colorbond House of the Year (2025) at the Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards. The project also took top honours at the HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay awards.

Situated on the eastern slopes of the Maleny-Montville plateau, Horseshoe Hill is set on a steep rural site in Bald Knob, a region subject to numerous debris flows and rotational landslides.

Arcos Group was engaged by Jager Build and were able to provide critical design factors for the foundations of this grand structure.

Arcos delivered the geotecnical expertise to support this complex build including:
* Detailed geotechnical investigation including a geological site walkover to map the complex geology
* Slope stability analyses
* Earthworks and construction inspections

This project demonstrates how appropriate geotechnical engineering investigations and assessment can de-risk a potentially adverse site and turn a concept requiring an exceptional level of technical expertise and precision, into a reality.
